2006 SEASON UPDATE | new information about Membership

PUBLIC P.L.O.T. LAND and LATE SEASON LODGING

Of course North Dakota Non–Residents may hunt private or federal land beginning opening-day (Oct. 14th). However they cannot hunt “PUBLIC P.L.O.T. LAND” until Saturday Oct. 21st; but don’t forget, the season doesn’t end until the 1st week

of January, 2007 … and we’ll keep our 2 houses available throughout the entire season!

2006 SEASON  The “Banana Belt” of North Dakota has had a relatively mild winter.  Several local farmers reported that they’ve seen as many birds to date as ever before.  Overall, we should have excellent bird numbers!

HOUSES  As you may know, our 2 houses are next door to each other and conveniently located down the street from the Tailfeather “convent” building, making for easy access to our pro-shop, lounge, bird cleaning facilities, dog runs, etc.  The

smaller house sleeps 6 to 7 and the larger house 8 to 11 . . . of course both are fully furnished including complete cooking facilities. The flat rates range from $210.00 to $280.00 per night.  Check our web-site for photos and other details.

NEW PRO-SHOP ITEMS  We stock leather shooting gloves, a new line of hunting hats and shirts, golf jackets, Holiday (pheasant feather) wreaths, etc.  This year we’ve added new “ergonomic” hunting vests by PELLA, and a variety of wildlife items, coffee mugs and a myriad of gifts to bring home for the ladies.  (Don’t forget . . . Christmas will be right around the corner!)

TAXIDERMY SERVICE  We refer our guests to an excellent taxidermist in Dickinson (about 45 minutes from Mott) by the name of Don Paul.  He can be reached at (701) 225-8496.  (Pick-up and delivery service available.)         

BIRD-CLEANING SERVICES  There are two services in town.  One of them will even “smoke” your birds (but it takes at least 3 to 4 days).  You can obtain directions to their drop–off sites at our office / pro-shop.

EXPANDED “PRIVATE FEE-HUNTING” LIST   Upon leaving a deposit to stay with us, we will send you a copy of our exclusive “Private Fee – Hunting” list.  This connects you to the local farmers for land access only; and with professional

guides with dogs, without having to pay outrageous commercial rates.  Don’t forget to ask for your Tailfeatherdiscount!

DEPOSITS  We still accept 50% non-refundable deposits earlier in the year; however we’re having the balance paid no later than the end of August prior to each fall season.  This makes your check-in and registration process go much more smoothly, and allows for our staff to take better care of your other immediate needs. 

“WAVES-ON-WHEELS” and NEW COUPONS  There are 4 restaurants within walking distance of the Tailfeather and a new fine dining restaurant a few miles out of town.  For the second consecutive year, we’ll be offering DiscountCoupons exclusively made available to our guests, that can be redeemed at several of the local businesses for various services and goods; including a Hot-Tub on wheels that can be rented for a 24-hr period of time!
